No LR-308 80% lower receiver build is complete without a buffer kit. In combination with a lower parts kit (sold separately), this kit includes all components necessary to finish assembling your .308 lower receiver.

Mil-Spec / Standard Buffer Fitment
This buffer assembly includes a mil-spec tube with an outer diameter of 1.148″ and a thread pattern of 1-13/16″ x 16. It’s designed to fit any typical LR-308 stripped lower receiver or .308 80% lower that’s also advertised with mil-spec fittings. Virtually all modern AR-15 receivers are manufactured with mil-spec fittings.
Commercial vs. Mil-spec Buffer Tubes
The tube is also machined with the typical six-position detents, ensuring it’s compatible with most M4/M16-type and other adjustable aftermarket buttstocks and pistol braces.

Includes “Shorty” .308 Buffer
This buffer tube assembly includes a 3.8-ounce “Shorty” .308 recoil buffer. It’s designed to fit inside the standard AR-15 buffer tube, which is physically shorter than the AR-10’s original, longer buffer tube. This ensures compatibility with standard AR-type buttstocks and latch plates.
Buffer Installation Instructions
Installing the buffer assembly is relatively simple. You will need an Armorer’s Wrench to get the job done. If you’re also installing your lower parts kit, we recommend buying a set of roll pin punches.
