If you frequently put many rounds downrange with your .223/5.56 AR in rapid succession, you need to squeeze as much control out of your rifle as possible. One way to do this is to replace your mil-spec A2 flash hider with a muzzle brake. For exactly this reason, Fortis Manufacturing gives you the Rapid Engagement Device, or the Fortis RED, now in stainless steel. It installs just like your A2 does, so it’ll take you like a minute if that.
The stainless steel Fortis RED is specifically designed to give you more control during rapid fire. It does this with purposefully placed internal chambers and side vents that work to greatly reduce recoil. On top are three successively smaller port that aid in giving you a little reduction in muzzle rise. See below for more info.
